Pass Protect Add a free Chrome browser alert for hacking passwords

Okta has launched a free addition to the Google Chrome browser called PassProtect which checks your username and password instantaneously while you are logged on to a site by relying on the data    Have I Been Pwned  to see if your account has been compromised before.

The site Ive Been Been Pwned, designed by Australian Tori Hunt, is an invaluable resource for Internet users, giving them an opportunity to determine whether their email or password has been used in previous hack attempts.

This extension is important to protect your data from hacking as it is a great way to warn you about intrusions. For example, your Gmail password may be used in one of the hackings you are exposed to and you do not know.

Data breaches occur all the time with the development of pirated hacker tools and software. The biggest online sites have suffered from these intrusions, for example the impact of the MySpace social network on nearly 360 million users. In 2016, a hacker introduced more than 165 million social networking accounts for Linked to sell, so PassProtect is one of the tools that helps mitigate incidents of hacking and data theft that occur daily.
If you use a weak password, it will tell you so that you can change it with a stronger, more secure password ... Here's how it looks
PassProtect uses k-anonymity techniques to ensure that passwords do not pass through Web sites, especially when they are scanned through the Have I Been Pwned site.

You can download the PassProtect Add-on for Chrome from today. Developers will be happy to know that Okta has released a copy of the JavaScript library if you wish to integrate it into your website.
